Norman Issley B.C.L., LL.B, B.Sc. (Ph), Counsel

With a 30-year law career primarily in mergers and acquisitions, Norman Issley is a well-known consultant and advisor who also has a wealth of experience in commercial law, including acquisitions, franchising, real estate and commercial leasing. He advises clients on day-to-day commercial operations involving purchase agreements, leases, real estate offers, franchising agreements, shareholder agreements, employment contracts and distributorship agreements.

Norman's expertise in pharmacy and pharmacology enables him to offer unique advice to commercial clients in the pharmaceutical and retail pharmacy industries. He is also counsel to several funeral home and cemetery chains.

Norman was appointed by the International Law Office, an internet newsletter, as its exclusive Canadian editor and principal contributor in the area of Canadian franchise law. He has also published numerous articles and newsletters, and has lectured both in Canada and the United States on the subjects of franchising and leasing. He has been a roundtable facilitator at the International Franchise Association (IFA) annual conventions, and a speaker at the Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) annual convention. He has also been a panelist at the Canadian Institute conferences.

Norman joined Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP as a partner in 2009.
