Chris joined FMC as a summer student in 2005, returned for his articles in 2007 and is now practising as a litigation lawyer with the firm’s Commercial Litigation department and Construction Group. Chris’s practice focuses primarily on Construction Law, and his construction experience includes a combination of litigation and solicitor’s work. He has worked on a variety of builders’ lien and collection matters, tendering and commercial lease disputes and other types of construction litigation and has represented owners, contractors and subcontractors in this regard.
Apart from Construction Law, Chris also has experience with a wide variety of commercial and general litigation matters. Formerly a software developer and project manager, Chris has direct experience with the design, development and deployment of software projects for clients based in Vancouver, B.C., San Francisco, California and London, England. This lends to Chris’s expertise in software-related intellectual property licensing matters, as well as his expertise in matters involving electronic evidence and electronic records production.
