Over the past few months the federal government announced several new initiatives, under its Advantage Canada strategy aimed at improving the Temporary Foreign Worker Program. Presumably, these initiatives will assist employers facing extensive labour shortages and ensure the continued growth and competitiveness of Canadian businesses. But will these new initiatives truly make a difference? Will Canadian employers really gain an advantage in the recruitment of foreign workers?
