The Code of Civil Procedure (“C.C.P.”) was first introduced in 1866 and was subsequently restated in its entirety in 1897 as well as in 1965. Since the adoption of a modern Code, a wide range and number of other amendments have been implemented to better reflect social and legislative changes, with the stated objective of ensuring access to the judicial system at a reasonable cost.
