Christopher J. Ramsay LL.B., Partner

Chris Ramsay is a partner in FMC's Vancouver office, and a member of the firm's Insolvency and Restructuring Group. Chris acts for a wide range of stakeholders including companies in financial distress, creditors, bondholders, shareholders, and trustees. Chris has considerable experience in the context of distressed M&A transactions, acting for buyers and sellers, and has significant experience in cross-border insolvency proceedings, including Chapter 11 proceedings under the United States Bankruptcy Code.

Chris has also significant expertise in the context of multi-jurisdictional fraud matters and acts for financial institutions in the tracing and recovery of assets in Canada and other jurisdictions.

Counsel to the creditor group which petitioned Ian Gregory Thow into bankruptcy and acted in connection with the coordination of insolvency proceedings in British Columbia
Counsel to Interclaim in the context of multi-jurisdictional insolvency proceedings commenced in British Columbia, which involved the tracing and seizing of assets world-wide including Barbados and Switzerland
