Ron Stuber LL.B., B.Comm., Partner

Ron is the National Co-Lead of FMC’s Renewable Energy Team. Ron’s practice focuses on the development and financing of projects and major commercial transactions, particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

He has extensive international experience advising proponents, lenders and others involved in major projects and transactions (including renewable and other electricity generation, transmission, distribution and supply; upstream, mid-stream and downstream oil & gas; petrochemicals and liquefied natural gas; hospitals, road, rail, ports and other infrastructure).

Ron has spent many years based in London, England with major London law firms, where he advised extensively on energy and infrastructure projects and transactions throughout the U.K., Europe, the Middle East and Africa. 

He has also spent time working as corporate counsel to major international oil companies. Ron began his legal career as a commercial lawyer in our firm in Calgary.

Counsel to Capital Power on its acquisition of the 275MW Island Generation Facility in British Columbia
Advising AltaGas on the development of the 195MW Forrest Kerr Hydro-Electric Project and Northwest Transmission Line Project in British Colombia
Fort St. John Hospital Project - counsel to the Concessionaire ISL Health (a private consortium formed by Innisfree and Acciona) on this $300 million DBFM project, which achieved financial close in July 2009
Route 1 Gateway Project - counsel to the lenders supporting one of the consortia that bid for this design build project in New Brunswick
