Charles R. Spector has over twenty years of experience in a wide range of commercial transactions focusing primarily on public and private corporate financing, take-overs and mergers and acquisitions. He regularly advises public and private companies on strategies and corporate governance issues. He has written several articles on a variety of subjects including government regulations affecting the petroleum industry, the duties of the Board of Directors during a hostile take-over and independent power project financing in Québec.
In 1989, Mr. Spector completed a Master’s Degree in corporate law from the Columbia University School of Law, New York. He has been invited as guest speaker at several conferences relating to take-over bids and defensive strategies and, most recently, on the financing of energy projects. He is also director of several private and public corporations.
Mr. Spector joined Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP in 1991 and became a partner in 1996. He was appointed Managing Partner of the Montréal office in 2004 and of the New York office in 2006.
