Allan L. McLarty Q.C., LL.B., B.A., Counsel

Al joined the firm after a lengthy practice with the Energy Resources Conservation Board where he obtained a broad range of energy related regulatory experience.

As one of the firm’s senior regulatory counsel in Calgary, Al’s practice is in the area of energy regulation and project development.

He is a senior counsel in Fraser Milner Casgrain’s energy and regulatory practice group in Calgary. His lengthy experience in the Canadian energy sector enables him to provide insightful advice in the context of the current energy regulatory environment.

Al’s expertise derived initially from the perspective of counsel with an energy regulator and subsequently through the representation of industry in the steerage and development of significant energy projects through both Federal and Provincial regulatory approval processes.

Al’s experience has facilitated the successful resolution of issues with government, regulators, land owners, environmental interests, first nations and competing energy developers.
