Karim is an energy projects lawyer with experience in numerous energy (oil & gas and power) projects in Canada and overseas. His oil & gas experience includes structuring, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements in the upstream (onshore, offshore and oil sands), LNG, midstream, downstream and marketing areas. He has also advised on energy sector reform, regulation and privatization.
Karim has also advised on the development and construction of greenfield power projects (gas, coal, wind and hydro) in Canada and overseas.
In relation to construction, Karim is familiar with tender and RFP drafting, implementation and award as well as the drafting and negotiation of EPC and EPCM arrangements and all related consulting, project management and contractor contracts.
In the course of his practice, Karim has advised project developers, governments, international multilateral agencies and financial institutions, having worked in over thirty countries in North America, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe.
