Jules L. Lewy LL.B., B.C.L., B.A. (Hons.), Partner

Jules practises in the firm’s Tax Group and focuses on all aspects of taxation, including corporate, international and personal tax law.

Jules frequently provides business and tax advice to owner-managed businesses and Canadian subsidiaries of international corporations, including advice on corporate reorganizations, acquisitions and divestitures. He also provides tax advice on real estate matters and succession planning advice for owner managed businesses. In addition, Jules assists clients in resolving tax disputes and advises on sophisticated international tax structures, including transfer pricing issues and non-resident trust structures.

From 1994 through 1998, Jules was the managing partner of the firm’s North York Office. From 1986 through 1989, Jules was the firm’s first resident partner in its Hong Kong office. From 1988 through 1989, he also served as President of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.

Jules is a frequent speaker at conferences and the author of numerous articles. He is the Editor of CCH Canadian Transfer Pricing, 2nd Edition and a monthly contributor to CCH Tax Window Newsletter. As well, he is recognized as a leading practitioner of tax law in Best Lawyers in Canada.  In addition, for the past eight years, Jules has been a lecturer in the advanced tax course at the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law.
