James has had a distinguished career as a senior executive, corporate director and lawyer. In his role as Counsel for Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP, James provides advice to lawyers and clients that draws on his 30 years of experience as a senior business lawyer.
From 2004-2006 James was Special Adviser to the Premier of Ontario on the Steel Industry. He is also a former President and CEO of Molson Inc. During 1997-2000, he led the transformation of Molson Inc. from a diversified holding company into a focused brewing company. Prior to that, he was a senior partner of a major Canadian law firm for 24 years, where he gained significant experience as the Toronto Corporate/Commercial Head and as resident partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.
