Abbas is a partner in the Business Law Group and practises in the areas of securities and corporate law with a focus on corporate finance, mergers and acquisition transactions, mining, alternative energy and structured financial products. Abbas has significant experience acting for issuers and underwriters in domestic and international public equity and debt offerings and private placements; mergers and acquisitions and other business combinations. Abbas also advises public companies on Canadian securities laws (including continuous disclosure and regulatory compliance). Abbas spent over a year working in the structured products group of a leading Canadian investment bank where he worked on a broad range of transactions.
