Susan Griffin appointed judge of the BC Supreme Court

March 3 2008 - Vancouver
On February 19, 2008, Susan Griffin, previously senior litigation partner with Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP (FMC), was appointed judge of the British Columbia Supreme Court.

Susan joined FMC's Vancouver office in 1999, and served as Co-Chair of the firm's National Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group until her recent appointment to the bench. During that time, she has developed a strong reputation as a skilled and highly professional advocate. Throughout her career, she has appeared before all levels of courts, and in a wide variety of practice areas. In addition to her courtroom experience, Susan has acted as counsel to a judicial commission, annually edited a leading manual for civil practitioners, taught every year at a respected advocacy workshop and has appeared as guest lecturer in courses designed for the education of the judges.

Susan's move to the BC Supreme Court has been met with wide acclaim both from her colleagues in Vancouver, and from many members of the Court. "Our firm could not be more proud of her achievements or more pleased with her newest success," says Michel Brunet, Chair and CEO. "We wish her all the very best as she sets out to serve the fortunate people of British Columbia with her hallmark humility, compassion and dedication."
