Senator David Smith recognized by Queen’s Law School

At a dinner held at the West Block of Parliament Hill, in celebration of Queen’s Law School’s 50th Anniversary, Senator David Smith was awarded the H.R.S. Stuart Ryan Law Alumni Award. This Award recognizes a Queen’s law alumnus/alumna who has made a significant contribution to the Faculty, University or legal profession. Senator Smith, a Law ‘70 graduate, was recognized for not only his support to Queen’s over the years, but his tremendous public service to Canada.
The guest speaker at the event was the Right Honourable Beverly McLachlin, Chief Justice of Canada and numerous other dignitaries that attended the event, including the Speaker of the House. David was accompanied by his wife Heather, Chief Justice of the Superior Court of Ontario, and two of his children.
We congratulate Senator David Smith for this accomplishment.
