FMC Announces New Partners John Haythorne and Karen Martin in Vancouver office

Experts reflect national and international depth of experience in P3, infrastructure and construction law
Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP (FMC), one of Canada’s leading business and litigation law firms, is pleased to announce that John S. Haythorne and Karen Martin have joined the firm’s partnership. Based in FMC’s Vancouver office, Mr. Haythorne and Ms. Martin will bring expanded depth and expertise to the firm’s public-private partnership (P3), infrastructure, construction, and litigation groups.
John Haythorne is a nationally recognized leader in the areas of P3, infrastructure, construction and engineering. He is an experienced lecturer and often speaks at universities and colleges as well as at professional Continuing Legal Education sessions. Recognized by Chambers Global 2008, Mr. Haythorne is a significant addition to FMC’s national P3 and infrastructure group, where he will provide counsel in construction and engineering law, with a special emphasis on negotiating and drafting contracts and public-private partnerships. Following a brief career as a professional engineer, Mr. Haythorne was called to the Bar in 1981.
Karen Martin has 23 years experience in engineering and construction litigation law, with a focus on providing strategic advice on construction projects and resolution of construction disputes. She has an extensive background in the negotiation, litigation, mediation and arbitration of construction and related disputes. Her expertise has been recognized by regional organizations and by Lexpert in the area of construction law. Ms. Martin has authored many articles related to her expertise, and is a regular speaker on litigation and construction issues.
