Kent Hehr elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta
March 7 2008 - Alberta
On Monday, March 3, 2008, Kent Hehr, an Associate in the Calgary office of Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP (FMC), was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta as the representative of the inner city constituency of Calgary-Buffalo for the Alberta Liberal Party.
Kent's constituency is representative of the growing diversity of the city, with constituents of varying backgrounds and economic levels. "I look forward to representing the people of Calgary-Buffalo who are faced with numerous challenges including increasing crime, homelessness, and a lack of affordable housing," said Kent after the election on Monday night.
Kent's campaign was led by Calgary Partners Chima Nkemdirim and Phil Scheibel, and Associate Michael Kariya, and included a number of volunteers and supporters from the firm. Kent joined the firm as an articling student in 2001 and has since been part of the firm's National Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group. He has also been an outspoken community activist, particularly for people living with disabilities.
Kent's colleagues at FMC are confident that he will make an outstanding MLA for the Calgary inner-city riding, and congratulate Kent and his team on this significant accomplishment.
