We are pleased to advise that on July 30, 2009, our Pensions and Benefits partner Mary Picard was appointed by the Ontario Minister of Finance to a 13-member Advisory Council on Pensions and Retirement Income.
The McGuinty government first announced its intention to create the Council in its 2009 budget, as part of its plan to move ahead with long-term pension reforms. The Council has a mandate until March 31, 2011, to provide ongoing advice to the Minister on pension reform proposals and help keep the government informed on stakeholder viewpoints.
