FMC welcomes Álvaro Uribe Vélez, President of the Republic of Colombia

On Wednesday, June 10, 2009, Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP (FMC) welcomed the President of the Republic of Colombia, Mr. Álvaro Uribe Vélez, by hosting a private breakfast with FMC’s national management leaders and partners, and other senior executives of major domestic and international businesses.

At the breakfast meeting, held at FMC’s Montreal office, Mr. Uribe Vélez met with influential business leaders to discuss the current economic environment and the Republic of Colombia’s position on world markets. "Colombia is brimming with business opportunities," said Michel Brunet, FMC’s Chair and CEO. "We are proud to welcome a guest as illustrious as the President of the Republic of Columbia, and we look forward to building increasingly strong relationships with this South American country."

Mr. Uribe Vélez was in Montréal as a keynote speaker at the 15th International Economic Forum of the Americas / Conference of Montreal. Under the central theme "Adapting to a New World Order", the 15th edition of this event will seek to identify the strategic issues and challenges raised by this new configuration of economic and political powers.

First elected President of the Republic of Colombia in 2002, Mr. Álvaro Uribe Vélez is currently serving his second term in office.
