FMC Vancouver recognized for its commitment to Easter Seals
June 19 2008 - Vancouver
On June 14-15, 2008, FMC's Vancouver office joined other members of the community for the annual BC Lions Easter Seals 24-Hour Relay to raise funds to send children living with disabilities to summer camp. On the last day of event, FMC Vancouver was pleasantly surprised to be recognized for its commitment to the event over the past six years.
During the course of the year, FMC raised close to $10,000 for Easter Seals through monthly 50/50 draws, bake sales, and auctions of prizes generously donated by FMC, their suppliers and other members of the community. Over six years of participation in the event, FMC has raised a total of $55,303.
The first Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay was held in Vancouver in 1979. Since then, it has raised over $25 million for children living with disabilities and is the largest fundraiser of its kind in Canada. For more information on the event, visit http://www.lionsbc.ca/events/24hr_kidsrelay.shtml.
