FMC’s Christopher Cochlin appears as one of two foreign experts in Government of Vietnam workshop
May 1 2008 - Vietnam
Christopher Cochlin was invited by the Government of Vietnam as one of only two foreign experts to make presentations and participate in a workshop in April in Hanoi sponsored by the Canadian International Development Agency on the assessment of trade and investment treaties.
At the workshop, Christopher covered the Canadian legal, administrative and policy-making framework for international treaties, the assessment of treaties during the negotiation phase (including the organization of negotiating teams), and the assessment of treaty obligations and language for implementation into domestic law (including implementing measures resulting from dispute settlement under state-to-state procedures and investor-state arbitration procedures).
