FMC is pleased to announce the 2012 recipient of the Victor Hum Bursary
February 3 2012

Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP (FMC), one of Canada’s leading business and litigation law firms, is pleased to announce this year’s recipient of the Victor Hum Bursary, Renatta Austin, a third year law student at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law.

In 2006, in memory of Toronto partner, Victor Hum, FMC endowed the Victor Hum Bursary in recognition of his dedication to diversity and inclusion, in conjunction with the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. The bursary is awarded annually to a student who has demonstrated a commitment to promoting diversity in the law school community.

Renatta holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto with a major in Political Science. She is currently the Vice-President (Central) for the Black Law Students Association of Canada. A passionate advocate for access, Renatta has for the last three years been a key organizer of the law school’s “See Yourself Here” program, an outreach program aimed at educating youth of colour about the opportunities available to them through a legal education and career.
