As Canada’s Governor General, Michaëlle Jean, said, “Now more than ever, it is time for us to show our solidarity with the most vulnerable people in the Americas, our brothers and sisters in Haϊti, whose courage is once again being so harshly tested.”
Despite its bravery, the Haϊtian community is grieving the loss of not only the country’s infrastructure, but also of family, friends, neighbours and colleagues who perished in the devastating earthquake that obliterated Haïti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, and surrounding regions.
Disheartened by this disaster, Fraser Milner Casgrain has joined the global community to support the efforts for emergency relief and reconstruction for Haïti. Thus far, our firm has comprehensively raised roughly $50,000 in support of the cause.
While for many of us this kind of devastation is unfathomable, we hope that by lending our support during this tumultuous time, Haiti will have faith that the global community is behind them. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who have lost or are still searching for loved ones, and we honour the tens of thousands of people who have died.
