John Sabine LL.B., B.A., Counsel
John practises principally in the areas of corporate finance, mining, and mergers and acquisitions. He represents various public companies and investment banking firms in public and private offerings of equity and debt securities. He acts as counsel to offerors, target companies or financial advisors in both hostile and negotiated takeover bid transactions and has been active in a variety of mergers, acquisitions, amalgamations, arrangements and divestitures. John has also provided advice on corporate governance matters to both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.

For over 30 years of practice, John has been engaged in numerous complex business transactions, particularly in the mining sector, but also representing advisors to corporations in other fields including transportation, food services, restaurant sales and broadcasting.

Among the companies John has acted for are Falconbridge Limited, Laidlaw Transportation Inc., LAC Minerals Inc., Meridian Gold Inc. and  WIC Western International Inc. as well as major investment banking firms.

In addition to acting as legal advisor, John has been a director of Discovery West Corp. (oil and gas), Minera Rayrock Inc. (copper mining), Dinecorp Hospitality Inc. (food services), Blackrock Ventures Inc. (heavy oil), Golden Star Resources Limited (gold mining), and John is currently a director and Chairman of Anvil Mining Limited (copper mining). 

For three years, John served as Chief Executive Officer of Arbor Memorial Services Inc.
