Stephen Lloyd has an established national reputation as a corporate lawyer in the natural resources sector, acting regularly for multinationals, real estate trusts and family-owned businesses in various complex transactions involving both real estate and operating business assets.

Stephen is the head of Fraser Milner Casgrain's (FMC) National Forest Products Industry Group and is knowledgeable in the ongoing business operations of a number of Canadian forest products companies.  In addition to managing large-scale acquisitions and divestitures, he has a particular expertise in long-term commercial and joint venture arrangements within the forest products and various other industries.

Stephen is a proven deal-maker with a practical, efficient approach.  He has worked throughout his career in advising clients on their effective long term stewardship of Canada's natural resources, and has often assisted in the establishment of sustainable relations between First Nations communities, conservation organizations and natural resource companies.

Stephen is involved in the management of the firm, formerly as head of the Montreal Commercial department, and currently as a member of the local management board.  He sits as a director and trustee on the boards of many business sector clients and is also actively involved in the governance and leadership of a number of charitable and community organizations. He is a member of the Board of Governors of Bishop's University, the Quebec board of Nature Conservancy of Canada and is an elected Councillor for a municipality in the Laurentians area of Quebec.  He is also an officer of the Martlet Foundation, which supports athletics at McGill University.

Stephen joined FMC in 1994 and became a partner in 2002.
