Ross is a partner with Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP’s Financial Services and Insolvency and Restructuring Groups. His practice includes syndicated loan financings, project financings, acquisition financings and other corporate debt financings. He acts for creditors, receivers and corporate debtors in dealing with loan defaults, security enforcement, corporate insolvency restructurings and distress debt transactions. He also advises domestic and foreign financial institutions on the development of new products, including mortgage and other lending products.

Ross has developed his expertise in the areas of corporate lending, insolvency restructurings and receiverships by working with financial institutions, other lenders and debtors for over 30 years. He provides innovative and practical solutions to complex problems facing both lenders and borrowers.

For many years he has helped one of Canada’s largest banks reduce its exposure to problem loans by working closely with borrowers’ management and shareholders or, in appropriate circumstances, with borrowers’ receivers or bankruptcy trustees.

He has also acted for numerous corporate debtors in restructuring their financial affairs using formal bankruptcy or insolvency proceedings. He assists debtors in dealing with their banks, suppliers, customers, unions, employees and other stakeholders as they complete their restructurings under court protection.

Ross assists lenders and corporate borrowers with innovative ways of financing acquisitions, projects and other investment or working capital needs. He also provides advice concerning derivatives, letters of credit, factoring and other types of financial instruments and services.
