Senator David P. Smith P.C., Q.C., LL.B., B.A., Chairman Emeritus

David was appointed Chairman Emeritus of Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP in 2002, after he was appointed to the Senate of Canada. David served as Chairman of Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP from January of 1994 to September of 2002, and became Counsel to the firm when he withdrew as a partner.

David served in the House of Commons and was a federal cabinet minister in Prime Minister Trudeau's government from 1980 to 1984. He was also a member of both Toronto City Council and Metro Council prior to his election as an M.P. In addition to his Senate duties, David maintains an office at Fraser Milner Casgrain's Toronto office, and he is quite active in both recruiting and dialoguing with articling students on his municipal and parliamentary experiences.
