Chantal is an associate in the Business Law Group and practices corporate/commercial and securities law. She advises public and private corporations on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance transactions, share and asset purchase transactions, amalgamations and corporate restructuring. Chantal also assists companies, issuers, agents and underwriters with stock exchange listings, capital pool companies, initial public offerings, take-overs, private placements, continuous disclosure obligations and other regulatory compliance issues.
In addition, Chantal practices energy law and has provided legal advise to lenders and large commercial and industrial electricity consumers in Southern Ontario with respect to corporate restructuring, electricity transmission, utility acquisition, contractual arrangements and regulatory compliance under the Market Rules (IESO). She recently completed a secondment at the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) of Ontario.
Prior to joining FMC, Chantal worked at a top tier law firm in London, England, where she practised in the area of international capital markets. During the course of her law studies, she completed two training contracts in the corporate and international commercial arbitration departments of a leading international law firm in Paris, France. She also worked at the Federal Court of Canada.
