With more than 30 years of experience in corporate and commercial law and in-depth expertise in securities law, Michel has recognized expertise in public offering, public financings, major infrastructure projects as well as in the sale and acquisition of business corporations, specifically in international transactions. In this context, Michel acted as counsel to many public, state-owned and private corporations in various areas, including institutional fund management, energy, manufacturing sector, commercial, financial services and brokerage, and to foreign companies with respect to their establishment or acquisition projects in Canada. He also acted for the Autorité des marchés financiers and the Department of Justice (Québec) as their delegate at the Hague Conference in connection with the negotiations of an international treaty on the settlement of transactions involving intermediated securities.
Michel has held several management positions with Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP (FMC), including chair, chief executive officer and managing partner of the Montréal office.
