FMC ranked among Toronto’s Top-Ten Development Law Firms by Novæ Res Urbis
December 18 2009 - Toronto
We are pleased to announce that Fraser Milner Casgrain has been recognized among the Top-Ten Development Law Firms by Novæ Res Urbis (NRU) (Vol 13, No 50, December 18, 2009).

In this, the 12th annual Toronto ranking, FMC’s team has placed 4th, a substantial increase over last year’s 8th place ranking. NRU highlights the significant OMB and Court Matters or Hearings in which each of the ranked firms has acted in the previous year. FMC’s extensive list of representative matters included, among others, the following cases:

  • representing Toronto Economic Development Corporation (now Toronto Port Lands Company) and others in appeals against Toronto’s Central Waterfront Secondary Plan
  • representing City Core Centre Inc. regarding an appeal by Canada Life Assurance Company against the heritage conservation district designation of a section of Toronto’s Queen Street West
  • representing over 20 different companies in appeals against Toronto’s New Official Plan
  • representing Stafford (25 Hobson) Ltd. and Stafford (Hobson) Ltd. in their appeals for OPA, ZBA and plan of subdivision to permit a residential development on Hobson Street

Congratulations to Patrick Devine, Andrew Jeanrie, Jason Park, Mark Piel, Doug Quick, and Andrew Salem, our Toronto Property Development team, on this achievement.
